If you are looking for a stimulus, you may as well look to your state. Some states are actually sending rebate checks but not the federal government, and certainly not the President.
With the rise in about every necessity needed, consumers could sure use a stimulus. The economic strain is further compounded by families affected by ongoing ICE raids. Recent policy changes have led to a surge in enforcement actions, including in sensitive locations such as schools and hospitals. Families impacted by these raids experience an average loss of 70% of their income within six months of a parent’s detention or deportation, often resulting in chronic poverty, educational setbacks for children, and long-term health decline.
From the latest natural disasters, the United States have endured over the past years, a financial bump could help tremendously. To the unknown happening underway, a preparatory step to set aside something has become a dream.
While some states have taken the initiative to provide rebate checks or targeted relief, there is currently no official federal stimulus program. Several states—including New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Colorado, and New Jersey—have issued one-time inflation relief payments or property tax rebates to eligible residents. For example, New York’s STAR program is providing up to $1,500 in credits to qualifying homeowners, and Georgia is issuing tax refunds of up to $500 for married couples filing jointly. However, rumors of new federal stimulus checks remain unsubstantiated, and no such program has been confirmed by Congress or the IRS. Any official updates would be posted on the IRS website.
